As you know Gilsonit is an amazing mineral that is aimed at Asphalt and Asphaltum. Its story began in the early 1860’s first discovers and mining of Gilsonit did in 1888 by Samuel H. Gilson. Wooden Products Waterproof Coating was the first usage of Gilsonit. Wire cable insulation and unique varnish are the other usages of Gilsonit. By this matter, Gilsonit enters the world markets. There were two kinds of this product. One of them had a low softening point with a conchoidal fracture and the other kind had a high softening point with penciled structure.
