Oxidized Bitumen 85/30 (Blown Bitumen 85/30) is produced by a continuous or staggered process. This process is done by air blowing into pure penetration bitumen 60/70. Heated penetration bitumen is always under control to monitor all conditions, especially the oil content, throughout the oxidation procedure.
As mentioned before, the common grade and primal material to produce oxidized bitumen is Penetration Bitumen 60/70, which is used more than the other conventional bitumen grades. The amount of heat and the duration of exposure to heat determine the oxidized bitumen grade.
